Bourbon. The heritage of this rose is unknown but general consensus by rose lovers is that it is one of the nicest striped roses to be found. Delicate shades of lilac and purple on a large cupped blooms complemented by lush foliage. Few thorns, plenty of blooms and a delicious fragrance. Lovely. Portland. A popular Portland rose of beautiful form and charm. The blooms are large, very double and the perfect 'old rose' formation. They are shaded a clear pink with edges that are slightly paler. aka Pink Moss Rose Moss. The stems and buds of this lovely rose are decorated with reddish green furry 'moss'. The buds open to large, rich pink, informal blooms that are very fragrant and quite frilly. Repeats well and is easy to grow. Prune lightly after flowering. From France 1852.

Damask. A graceful yet strong growing shrub with lush green foliage. The blooms are fragrant and look pale pink at first but open to pure white with a green centre. Rounded and flat in shape with a multitude of petals. Tolerant of poor soils and a little shade, repeats well. From France - 1832.

China. Beautifully shaped small flowers that are shaded a creamy buff-yellow with hints of pink. Nicely fragrant. The foliage is dark green and quite twiggy with almost thorn-less stems. A sweet little rose with buds that are perfect for a button-hole. 1884.

Rugosa. This strongly scented rose has beautiful semi-double, velvety wine-red flowers with a hint of purple. It is constantly in bloom over a long period. One of the best loved Rugosas with good reason. Nice dark green foliage which colours well in the autumn. Very hardy and tolerant. 1901.
